Hello everybody how are you..? We hope everybody is doing fine...alot has happened this week and more will happen by tommorrow Sunday. This past week was action packed alot of fun stuff alot of sad stuff but life keeps... chugging on..(thats a new song) ....more later...We have been noticing that when something really good happens to us and a huge hurdle has been jumped over and conquered for us ...a major trajedy befalls somebody we know and we find out some really sad thing has happened to somebody from our past whether extended family or old friends..it kinda suxx but we have no control over these things..and the whole deal is kinda sad but you cant do anything just say a prayer FOR THEM..AND YOURSELF..and keep rockin on down the highway..!!!
Anyway on to more cheerful matters...Eloy's birthday was April 14th 2011 ..so yesterday (April 15th) he shows up with an amazing new toy ! A brand new Silver Sparkle Orange County Precussion 4 piece drumset..wow ! my eyes popped out ! ha ha ! it looked so sparkly and shiney it was crazy and the sound is totally boom !!! very kool !
he also picked up a red sparkle snare drum that sounds so sharp its crazy..excellent live snare drum and drumset no doubt !
Today we worked on 3 new songs we worked out on our new Yamaha 12 string Acoustic..that are titled as such..
1.)Thankful for the Harvest...this song sounds like something from a Frodo in The Shire Jamout Party..
Think Styx meets Glass Harp with a little 1970's Rush thrown in ...something
that might find its way into "The Landing" album we have been working on since 2003..
2.) The Alexandria Star & The Glitter Moon....is a kind of Led Zeppelin meets Genesis type of song inspired by our
new poster fairy model...she was kool ,very pro and had a great
attitude towards the whole session everything went excellent
She told me she liked stars and moons and the whole fairy idea
and a light bulb went off in my head and a great guitar riff was born!
3.) Keep Chuggin Along..... this was pure inspiration,Saturday (April 16th2011) Eloy & Texas were working on the above
songs and things were rolling very well..we were about to end rehersal when out of nowhere
Texas Joe hits a Boogie riff a la Marc Bolan and T.Rex/Foghat/ZZ Top and viola! a new song!
Eloy jumped on the drums doing a 4x4 backbeat..complete with lazy ride cymbal and we had it
Eloy laughed and said we got another one, Texas Joe agreed and said yup just Keep
Chuggin Along ....(due to all that had happened this past week good and bad) a new name
for a new song was born !
so here we have it 3 new songs we hopefull will complete this week and keep on keepin on with life and rock and roll!
Another cool thing that happened this week is we got a hold of an old friend from wayy back in the day and we are happy to start up where we ended off last time back in the 1980's !!! Tommy G & Anna we are glad to hear from you again !
