1st set) All 12 string Acoustic...set..a ..preview or Showcase (Thank You Belinda ha ha !)  or our new acoustic songs..
2nd set) all 12 string electric set showcasing Witch Tree album songs...
3rd set) ...alot of our psychedelic guitar songs...all original music from all our 5 cd's 
4rth set)..alot of our more hard rock songs  ...all original music from our 5 differant cd's

Another gig Booked ! March 25th 2012 Live ! @The Frequency Madison Wisconsin!!!  

we just got word we have a gig finnally in Madison Wisconsin.@ The Frequency ! !!! ....we had been trying hard to book a gig in this town and finnally success !  should be a really fun gig !   they are famous for thier Pizza !

Just got word from J.C. & Brian ...we are booked to play.... The Low Cash Live in Milwaukee Wisconsin...March 31st 2012 ....we played this place back in September 2011....and it was an excellent place to have a beer and the food was just the best ! and of course we were the band for the night...totally awesome gig !  thanks again to J.C. and Brian...Low Cash Live Rocks !

Great gig ! Archer Park..McAllen Texas Feb 3rd 2012  

We had a fantastic gig last night in McAllen Texas..totally rocking out..!  alot of fun...we did about a 42 minute set..we started at 7.09 p.m. and by 8 .00 p.m. we were off the stage but had made a big positive impression on the crowd gathered at Archer Park in McAllen Texas for the art walk music concert..series...it was great !  we started off with Dancing Bears and ended the night..with...Thick and Thin...we had a great responce..it was amazing ! alot of pople and super good vibes !!!  thnx to Angel @ Sunfish and City of McAllen for the great gig ! it was a really good one ! here are some pix..courtesy of Gunner Gonzalez...who helped out...with camera !

during MookLayans...the sound was crisp and loud not to boomy..and it was a most excellent evening could not have asked for better weather in the  lower 70's it was great !  we got a great applause from crowd !

Resuming work on both albums Mermaid BluesE.P.& Landing Amongst The Giant Mushrooms Double/Triple LP 

Last night started work on new songs suitable for either Mermaid Blues (5 or 7 song)E.P. & Landing Amongst The Giant Mushrooms L.P. (which will be either a 24 song double or 34 song triple album not sure yet...) ..the 2 songs Texas Joe worked on are based on 12 string electric guitar...
one song being a very Krautrock style number ...in The vein of Can's 1972 album Tago Mago cut entitled "Oh Yeah" with some Yes Fragile and Rush Moving Pictures/Adrain Belew Big Electric Cat era tones... thrown in for good measure...
this song is titled:
                             1.) Deep In Space....

The second tune is very differant in a Latin Brazilian Carnival Style...titled:

                              2.) Feathers in The Air ..Dancing Everywhere.....Flowers in The Air......

again both on 12 string electric guitar.

so we keep chugging along (another song title we have ) hoping to finish both albums by the end of 2012...
On another note a representative of Rodney Matthews contacted us today ..about Rodney doing the album artwork...we are very excited to have Rodney do the artwork as his art is amazing and inspiring. Matthews art was used extensively in the 1970's by many prog/psych and hard rock bands for thier album covers and we Valles Flying Machine hope to have his art grace our album covers !

Copz Lounge gig Thursday Jan 19th 2012  

Copz Lounge gig Jan 19th 2012 went on with out a hitch...thanx to Arron of Copz Lounge and Sam Chavez for the gig !  we video recorded the gig and it was kool ! 
here are some pictures...we had a great time ...even though Texas Joe was a little under the weather from a slight cold...a couple of cool things ...1st time Eloy Valles uses his brand spanking new Yamaha Drum Set...and Noe Gonzalez scored a totally sweet and beautiful " Pawn Shop Princess" of a Deal! a 1951 Fender 51 reissue P Bass  which sounded totally amazing !

On Dec 26th 2011  day after Christmas...Texas Joe Valles recieves one of the coolest presents anybody could ask for...his buddy Silvano Braido...renowned Award winning Italian Artist...sent his 2011 art catalog ...a collection of stunning artworks by the man himself...Texas Joe was blown away and very happy ! ...the book just brims with colorfull eye popping artworks....very very kool...

Viaggio Fantastico by Silvano Braido...is the book's title and my my what an eyeball popper this book is..just beautiful..the attention to paper quality..dialog(in Italian which Texas Joe understands more or less)..quotes from other artists in differant realms...Silvanos..Artworks...and the layout is just over the top a fantastic eyeball..feast ! ha ha ! its a great artbook !  thank you Silvano !  you rule bro !

Working on new album finnally ....Dec 29th 2011 Mermaid Blues sessions Underway !  

Mermaid Blues album sessions now finnally underway ....last night Texas Joe Valles and Eloy Valles started working on the "bed tracks " for new song Thankful for The Harvest...so we are finnally ...starting the new album..!  its gonna have between 5 and 7 songs...Eloy prefers 7 songs...so we are ..weighing the options...most of the work will be "inhouse" inside ..Flying Mushroom Sound...our own studio....the album will have some very far out ...extremely spacey sounding electric guitar songs....balanced by ...several more organic..12 string acoustic based numbers...it will be a complete....departure from any other album we have done in the past because all the songs are very fresh new ideas ...almost ...all of the demos for the songs were made in 2011....so it will be a ..totally fun experience with very little outside infuence..in the recording process....should be a challange for Eloy and Texas Joe ...but no doubt will be alot of fun !   ...New Years Eve....is fast Approaching so this will be short and sweet....pix ..below...

Hi everybody we hope you are having a great holiday season...we were offred a gig in Edingburg Texas at the last minute by our buddy Angel of Sunfish Prod. ..needless to say we took the gig and it was great..!  we played at a place called Peace and Coffee Bar & Grill and the show was awesome !  so much so the owner ..offered us a gig to go back and play again ! wow we were happy !   its gigs like these that make it all worth while the audience was very ..happy to see us..and listen to our music....great vibes from the crowd..and the other musicians there...it was a great feeling...we cant wait to go back and play there again !

Dec16th2011 gig @ Copz Lounge Valles Flying Machine& Olivia Reber rock the House !  

Hello Merry Christmas we hope this blog finds you well and happy for the Holidays ! its Sunday Dec 18th 2011  and we are writing this blog about our show Friday Dec 16th 2011 at Copz Lounge..! 1st of all we would like to thank Arron and the really nice staff @ Copz Lounge for having us play there ,these people are really nice and very proffesional...and know how to run a club...also special thanks to Chris Hardcastle for video taping us at the show and to our super beautiful and sexy friend Jenn...for showing up and supporting us at the show also to the open minded people of Harlingen Texas and surrounding areas who braved the bad weather (cold and rain) and surprizingly enough stayed all night from like 9.00 p.m. to 2 a.m. !!!  and partied and jammed out and supported the Valles Flying Machine...all night long there was tons of people at Copz Lounge ...totally supporting and rockin out with us..! it was a very happy and Festive Mood ! ...we ...played 3 sets of almost all original music...all our own music and we only did 4 covers..... 2 y The Jimi Henderix Experience...and 2 by The James Gang....people loved our covers and yelled and cheered and ..they really loved our NEW SONGS !  it was a really nice time ! Arron and the staff of Copz Lounge were so impressed with our...music immidiately after the gig offered us ....another show for February 10th 2012....right on!!!! Copz Lounge ...we will be there ! 
Olivia Reber opened the show with her own songs @ 9.45p.m. and rocked it out for one hour...her last 6 songs Eloy and Noe G supported her on Drums and bass guitar...so this was the 1st time Olivia ..played to a large audience with a back up band...the people loved it cheering and clapping after every song ...video up on You Tube soon..!  Olivia Rocked it out ! 
@ 11.00 p.m. Valles Flying Machine took the stage and didnt let up until 1.50 a.m. the club was still full of people at that time ..rockers wanna party all night ha ha !  we started the show off with a new song called...Thank Full for the Harvest..did 3 sets of about 8 songs each set......and ended the night with Shes The One...one of our oldest songs dating back to the 1980's !  ha ha it was great even on our last notes people were cheering and clapping it was so kool !
of note..in the "seen it all before catagory...when your a rock band as long as we have been doing it...nothing comes as a surprize..then you do get a surpzize !  well as we loaded in to the club...it was raining outside...but we had a nightmare of a problem inside...the toilets backed up...just as we were loading our very 1st batch of gear into the club and a ton of water came rolling from under the walls ! as we were walking in !!!!..we had to grab 3 giant mops and luckly they had them...!!!...slop up the mess..and it was alot of work......nearly one third of the floor was covered in water mess ! .............as we arrived only one bartender was there he was able to shut the water off the latreen...but we had to mop up tons of water...about....half an industrial yellow/wheeled pale full ! we were so pissed off..but then laughed it off..while we were mopping..this could have caused an electricution..to us..or the patrons..!   this had never happened to us..1 st time we have ever had to" rock the mop"..ha ha !  at a club..!  we didnt want our gear full of water...or get electrecuted ! a side note some very sexy looking girls were trying to get to the ladies bathroom..and one slipped in her high heels but got her balance on the wall....another girl in high heels Texas Joe had to help her as she slipped and almost fell down in the water and muck !   luckly something bad was averted..she thanked Texas Joe ...and we cleaned it up as fast as possible ..chalk that up to a new experience !!! ha ha !   ..Copz Lounge Dec 16th 2011 was fantastic ! great gig ! also the 1st time and 1st gig we finnally use a banner ! see pictures !
For the rest of the Holiday Season we will play it cool and just work on Mermiad Blues ..and recording the songs for this album.....no gigs in the near future....but big plans lay ahead for us....our friends in England have some shows lined up for us..next year  and we are gonna do them !!!

Hello folks just a quick blurb on books that influence me ,Texas Joe in what I do or just enjoy reading almost all of it goes back to having some type of fundamental impact on songwriting or some other creative outlet in the our songwriting or band art. or creative process....enjoy !  Our gig tommorrow should be alot of fun ! ...four sets of songs ready to go ! by tommorrow  ! hope to see you there !

this book talks about all the recording gear and techniques used to record alot of the Beatles Songs !


I recently borrowed this from Library Im gonnanhave to buy a copy for myself !
below are one of the most important aspects of The Beatles recording chain..the compressors..here in lies the magic on why those records sound so darn good...of course it talks about the Beatles instruments...Mixing consoles..mics..tape machines..echo chambers and other items ..in the recording chain...but alot of the magic..lies..here in the compressors....these pages talk about these little magical items !

very kool book on the Beatles recording dates and gear at Abby Road Studios London England !  ill post more pix soon !

below totally changing the subject..a Book on The Luftwaffe..during WW2  its a book used alot in military traing schools...and ..has diary entries from German Pilots during the conflict...very human ,,aspects come to light in all the chapters..its an intresting book and a very rare one at that totally collectible !

Below a very new book that just came out in 2010 or 2011 called Mountains Fall Out Of The Sky...a History or Prog Rock...Rick Wakeman of the band Yes on the cover jamming out on his Hammond B3 organ !  its an excellent book ! very very kool history on Prog Music...this book is a wealth on information on Old and New Prog bands a Defining Book !



another very neat book Texas Joe found in the Library for sale..on the subject of American Films..excellent book...it ends in about the mid 1980's so its a little older...but This book really covers..the American Film and Movie industry from its early days very very well..a great book...!



A book I held onto after I went back to college.in 2003..I took some art classes to help me understand ..Art..in all its forms..and maybe put some meaning into some of the art I love and like and why I hate some art...this book really helped...learn more about this wonderful medium...I got this book in about 2005 or 2006...and have held onto it ...since then it also has a video rom cd so thats pretty kool I always brush up on my art..and go through this thing ...at regular intervals...A College book that has helped me alot needless to say I had all A's in these art classes ha ha !   greatbook ! by the way I graduated with honors in Dec 2007..Dual.Bachlrs. Hist./ Gov. ..minor in Art and Econimics...




below is another very kool book I really love ! titled " Queen As It Began"  its from the late 1990's but I have kept it very clean and in pritine shape...it tells the story of the rise of the band Queen...but what I was intrested in and the book goes into great detail was the early struggles of the band to get a record deal...and the great confidence the band had...a most excellent book..I started re reading this book recently in November 2011 



Below...Not one but 2 copies (one my own purchased from Nok Turner singer songwriter sax player flute player of the band Hawkwind) and second copy borrowed from library ...a most excellent book on the band Hawkwind and all its colorful history ! One of my all time favorite bands...just the coolest thing ever love the band Hawkwind ..alot and love this book signed by Nik Turner ! when we Valles Spaceship...played in Cullman Alabama @ Spacerock Con in 2006..an excellent time ! and got a gret book !



Probably my most favorite 2 books of this batch, happy to say ..because they both are books on artwork by my most favorite illustrator /artist..Rodney Matthews...Last Ship Home & In Search of Forever...both made in the early 1990's excellent artwork ! We hope to have Rodney do some artwork for us in the very near future !  Texas Joe really loves these books and Rodney"s artworks just amazing !



Below.....Another very kool book..called Science Fiction Illustration..... I stumbled upon in Denton Texas in Sept 2011 at a giant old college music and book store in downtown Denton...its from the early 1980's but it covers alot of art work in the Sci Fi genre  it illustrates and has pictures of some of the earliest Sci Fi artwork known....in the Western World...this book is excellent..it goes all the way into the early 1960's but Texas Joe loves the early era artwork...from the 1900's to the 1950's  from books and movies and news articles very kool book !

Monday December 5th 2011 scored another Yamaha 12 string in a Pawnshop. 

Hello everybody hope your doing allright .pre production work has started on our new album Sirenita Blues(Mermaid Blues) album...Eloy has suggested a 7 song E.P. ..AS..as opposed to the original 5 songs.....we are getting by the economy has really fucked us around as a band,but we keep pushing foreward...  anyway ...another cool pawnshop find recently....we are happy to report...Monday December 5th 2011 ,Texas Joe decided to go ahead..and purchase a Yamaha 12 string guitar (model FG 411S) he had found in a local Brownsville, Texas pawn shop several days earlier...at great sacrifice....as money is hard to come by right now...but with a few card tricks...and game plays ...was able to have an early Christmas present ha ha ! ..the guitar sounds great and will be used for the new albums we are recording. It was common knowledge in the band that we would need a second 12 string guitar ..for several reasons...number one..as a recording instrument for the new album...it has a differant tone to his original Yamaha FG 413 12 S  model 12 string guitar...plus as coffee house and small gigs are on the horizon...it was prudent ..to get another 12 string in the guitar arsenal. Needless to say the guitar (Yamaha FG411 12 S) sounds amazing...its powerful and more bright...so it compliments our other Yamaha 12 string very well...below are some pictures...

Whats better than one Yamaha 12 string guitar..? why 2 Yamaha 12 string guitars of course ! ha ha ! on your left is Yamaha FG413 12 S model...it has a very warm punchy tone...and to your right is a Yamaha FG411 12 S model ...it is a more bright sounding guitar...both will compliment each other very well while double trackig on the new Mermaid Blues album by the Valles Flying Machine...
Yesterday December 10th Saturday 2011 we were suppose to play a gig @ KMBH studios parking lot but due to the fact that there was cold rain and drizzle we decided to forgoe the 3 song gig we were supose to do....sometimes you have to make tuff decisions for many reasons...yesterday was one of them...
On another subject this coming Friday Dec 16th is our gig at Copz Lounge ..we start at 10p.m. hope some of you can make it out to the gig....should be alot of fun ! we hope to have Olivia R. opening the show..with her acoustic sounds and songs...as always help us out and purchase some of our songs on our music website youll be glad you clicked on this link and did..! you can go here !
