if all goes well.due to rain conditions...we were approched to play a concert in Harlingen, Texas called The Summer of Love Freedom Fest...2011 with several other very good rock bands from South Texas..on July 4rth 2011...@ Lon C Hill Park/FairPark area in Harlingen Texas we hope the rains subside for at least a while so we can perform our set which will be around 6.30 or 7.30 on Monday July 4rth 2011 ...should be a great day of music and fun..
.on a note about gigs...we have had the experience in the last several years of having some very ...under-attended gigs..here in South Texas..these usually being bar gigs...and we had made decisions not to play...any more bar gigs...at questionable place here in South Texas...due to many factors...extremely low attendance,very low pay by bar owners for shows..zero media coverage..alot of bands ..pushing for gigs...and more than likely the main culprit our horrendous economy..not helping the situation..with people not having enough money to eat and pay bills let alone go out for a beer and some rock and roll..!!!!
we understand this...but when somebody is putting on a Patriotic Festival ..and invites your band to play....with a little pay ..and beer thrown in for good measure...plus youll be with bands that are friends..and nice people...well..that is an honour...and reconsidering...is a great idea...but rest assured..the Valles Flying Machine..will not be playing anymore...substandard..bars...catinas..hole in the walls....roadhouses...or dank -out-of -the-way-clubs...like in the past..."just to play" .....with zero gain...that is a promise..! its a waste of time and money....in these trying times...
"Just to play" well that is why we have a studio now of our own where we, as a band can play in private..or to selected fans and friends and family...and ..we can now persue..a more...gainful...avenue of video recording our jams and practices and putting them on You Tube ..with our Zoom Q 3 HD cameras...with the help of Sony Vegas program..we can do better for our fans and friends and make more intresting jams ..that they can view from the comfort of thier home..or work..anytime they please...go to You Tube ....and type in Valles Flying Machine..we have already started this ...modus operendi...
On the Texas Joe guitar department...Texas Joe is looking to grab another 12 string guitar soon..a 6 string acoustic...another Sleepwalker Guitar(thnxx Earnie your guitars are the best bro ..love them big time !)..and another Danelectro guitar...! Texas Joe sees the value of the tone and qualities of The Danelectro U 56...that another one is ..more than likely in the works for..the new Mermaid Blues album...recently a red Dano U 56..was spotted and ..an adventure is sure to come ..recording these guitars !
