Hello and welcome to our blog hope you are having a great day . March 5th 2011..I wanted to talk a bit about my radio show Psych Rock 101 on KMBH 88.9/88.1 FM Saturday Nights from 10.p.m. until, midnight..broadcast from and in Harlingen Texas..it is a National Public Radio station so that is very kool..and I like the fact my Radio show has been going on for almost 8 years now !
I spin several types of fringe rock and roll that I personnally like to listen to..whats trendy or what most poeple like to hear does not interest me ..what interests me is turing on people to the music I like and love..one listener at a time..!
This includes Jazz rock ,Prog Rock,Psych Rock,certain Classic Rock,Jambands, and Space Rock. below is a poster of my radio show...
I love doing this we were on the internet for a while then some b.s. happened..which i cannot verify and we are now only on terrestrial radio..I keep saying im gonna podcast...but I dont know how to do this yet so for now ill wait...
now on to another subject ..on our new Witch Tree album...there is a song that has a huge rock sound to it..the song is called Thick & Thin...this song has been in our setlist for quite sometime...I recorded my guitar part using my Sleepwalker guitar..through a Garnet Valve amp and Peavey Road King 4x12 cab..but the secret ingrediant was a Zendrive overdrive pedal this thing is amazing I got a real sweet overdrive tone using this pedal and you can really feel the vibe..on this song. The guitar solo is one of my best "barn burner " solos I have ever commited to a recording and I hope you enjoy it..as much as I enjoyed doing it ! .

Alphonso Hermida the builder and designer of the pedals is a very kool guy..nice person..Carlos Santana...Roy Z.. .Robben Ford..John Mayer..Eric Johnson, all purportedly use the Zendrive a great tone pedal!
Finnally below is 2 of my all time favorite pictures of the Valles Bros. in action...
one is of the band playing in Harlingen Texas in or about 1992 at Sunday Club Show we use to promote..note Noe Valles on Rick4001 bass guitar and Texas Joe on Flying V Eloy on his Premier Drum set he should never have sold ! it had a great tone !
next up is a really kool picture of us jamming in Austin Texas May of 1993 at a party/benefit for Ray Wiley Hubbard..a local Austin legend...that huge oak tree was a wonderful back drop .The band got a really good responce at this show..it was fun !

we are still waiting for our mixes to come back from Los Angeles...and we are getting antsy..becuase we really wanna get out on the road and tour...hopefully the cd/s will be out by the end of this month and away we go on our 1st all American Rock and Roll Tour !
