South by South West was this past weekend in Austin Texas was a place to hob knob with music industry pros and watch great bands do thier thing. The event was amazing and overwhelming. Texas Joe had not been to SXSW since 1993 ! when the band lived in Austin oh soo long ago. We made new friends,talked to promoters,talked to recording and software profesionals and even have our foot now inside the tour industry of America. we received so much free stuff it was amazing from CD'S, Beer (Shiner Bock) to Tshirts,Keychains,food,and wonderful new recording software plug-ins for our Pro Tools rig courtesy of SoundToys.com thxx guys ! from Wednesday up until today March 20th 2011 it was alot of fun ! and great times and very educational..!
The one bad thing for Texas Joe is not enough sleep...ha ha ..the whole time..@SXSW..so much going on, staying up
late that your body clock gets thrown off bad but in the end it was alot of fun...
The Valles Flying Machine did not set out to play the SXSW Festival this year preffering to make music contacts and do music business but hopefully next year we will have a chance to jam on one of the stages..
With this being said we are moving full force foreward to get our cd's pressed up and get ready to tour for The Witch Tree album. Texas Joe will have lasting memories of the event..(it really was amazing and inspiring !) and more than likely will visit the event next year with the whole band in tow! 6 th Street in Austin Texas Friday nite March 18th 2011....facing east..a little before midnight.... ..there was sooooooo many people all over the streets it was crazy..the atmosphere was amazing though everybody was happy and having a great time..this has got to be one of the largest crowds I have ever seen...ever even bigger than the Fiesta Broadway crowds of the 1990's in Los Angles ! wow ! or so it seemed to me ! and music ever where ...loved it !
