Hello everybody short blog today February 21st 2011..today we will talk about art, artists & some guitars...Below is a poster done for the Valles Flying Machine..it features the art work of Justin Miller a fantastic artist from the Chicago Art Institute...an Alumni..this guy is fantastic...The logo was commishioned from our buddy Noe G ..and the whole project flowed & went very well...
The art works very well for our band ...very nice.
next up is a project that Texas Joe had brewing for most of 2002 and finnally got done in 2003 it is a replica of Jerry Garcia's (Guitarist for The Grateful Dead) Stephen Cripe of Florida..Guitar..
Texas Joe's version of the Cripe Florida Guitar varied in many ways...
1st of all the Guitar was built by Phil Gawenda of Phiga Guitars in Brownsville Texas.
and it is made of mostly Texas Woods mainly Mesquite Wood found here in Brownsville Texas...it is a beautiful work of art...the guitar has 3 Carvin Allan Holdsworth Pickups..and effects loop..a MIDI..Synth Driver by Roland Electronics, an acoustic simulater.. and Battery powered booster switch...plus the guitar has a crop circle inlay..and a chambered body to give more of an overdrive sing quality to the guitar at aloud volume a la Brian May of Queen...
Texas Joe's Jerry Guitar as he calls it...(Eloy gave it the name ha ha !) is a wonderful one of a kind guitar...and has an awesome sound !
The guitar has not been used yet on any Valles Flying Machine albums but it may see some use on the new Mermaid Blues album...a one of a kind work of art that rocks very hard...enjoy !
